More of 200 industry leaders gathered at an evening held at the Rosewood Villamagna Hotel in Madrid to recognize the work of seven industry professionals for their personal and professional contributions.

The 2023 edition of La Gala RR.HH. was the starting point for the Special Business Leader Award, an award that recognizes CEOs who, through innovative and people-centered leadership, have a positive impact on the Human Resources function.
Pedro García-Cano, accompanied by Cristina Hebrero, Head of People & Change at KPMG, announced the name of Alberto Rodríguez-Toquero, CEO of Mahou San Miguel as this year’s winner. Jesús Domingo, the company’s People Director, received the award on his behalf and gave way to a video in which Rodríguez Toquero pointed out that “if there is something that defines Mahou San Miguel, it is its focus on people”.
The general manager of Mahou San Miguel has more than thirty years of experience in the Food and Beverage sector, in which he has held different positions in an ascending professional career until reaching the position of general manager, first at Cola-Cola and currently at Mahou San Miguel.
Under his leadership, the brewing company has achieved a turnover of more than 1,200 million euros, with a presence in more than 70 countries and a 32% market share in Spain.
GALA 2024 AWARDS FOR MELIÁ, SANTANDER, ECOEMBES, ONCE, ENAGÁS AND PROSEGUR
The “WTC Employer Brand Development Award” went to Patricia Jaén, Global Talent Branding & Acquisition Director at Meliá Hoteles . The award was presented by Marta Muñoz, Human Resources Director at Coca-Cola, accompanied by Beatriz Iborra, Territory Manager Iberia at Remote. The hotel group’s management thanked “my wonderful team for their support and dedication” for the award. And also for “that touch of madness” that helps in the launch phase of their projects.
Raquel Graciano, Head of HR at Banco Santander, won the “Grupo Facthum Award for HR Management Trajectory”, which she received from the previous winner Silvina Uviz, Director of Human Resources at Microsoft, accompanied by Bruno Geraldes, Director of Indeed & Glassdoor Spain. The winner emphasized that “it is an award that recognizes the passion for doing things, the challenges”.
The next honoree of the evening was Teresa Gallastegui, Director of People and Organization at Ecoembes, who received the “Human Resources Forum Award for Best Communicator”. In his speech he also did not want to forget his team and his colleagues in the company: “We have worked hard”. The award was presented by Lorena Rodríguez, general director of HR and Organization of Vocento, in the presence of Pablo Rodríguez, president of Beonit.
The “Award for the Digitalization of the HR Function” went to Ana Abril, Technical Director of Talent at ONCE. An award presented by Yolanda Menal, Global people Director at Cellnex; together with Adolfo Pellicer, Country Manager Spain & Portugal at Workday. In his opinion, digitalization is a key element in people departments because “it helps us to play a more strategic role”.
Susana Toril, Director of People and Wellbeing at Enagás, was the winner of the “Talent Development Award”, a recognition that she particularly values since “I have the immense fortune of working for and with people”. Ruth Hernández, Director of People and Culture and People at Alsa and her predecessor in the award, was in charge of presenting the award, accompanied by Antonio Silva, Enterprise Sales Executive at ADP.
The latest award to be announced was the “Organizational Wellness Development Award”. This category was won by Victoria Jiménez de Pablo, director of Global People Engagement at Prosegur, who claimed that “we have a great purpose, which is to accompany people”. 2023 winner Monica Zai, Director of Human Resources at The Heineken Company, presented the award in the company of Ana Matarranz, Managing Director at Howden.
