The title of this first episode has been The Hybrid Workforce: Onsite vs Remote Work ” in which the participants have analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of face-to-face work and teleworking.
The day began with the welcome of Kae Huynh, Investor at EG Ventures, who was the person in charge of moderating and presenting the protagonists of the round table. He was accompanied by Angelo Del Priore, Partner at HP Tech Ventures, Carmen Bryant, Director of Marketing, US at Indeed and Francisco Marín, Co-founder & CEO of Cognitive Talent Solutions.
Workplace strategy during the pandemic and in the future
With the arrival of the pandemic, companies have had to adapt their work environment to ensure the well-being of employees. For this reason, Kae Huynh has asked them several questions in order to find out what strategies they have carried out in their respective companies in the workplace and how it was different from the previous strategy.
On the one hand, Angelo del Priore ensures that the way we work has completely changed due to the acceleration of digital transformation. For Angelo, “companies must recover by being agile in implementations and having an accelerated plan for their digital capabilities, focused on finding a new normal.”
At the same time, Carmen Bryant believes that companies have been able to demonstrate that they can work remotely and that workers can be productive in this way, so that profits are not impaired. In the same way, it maintains that all Human Resources departments must be prepared for all the changes that are taking place. “Before you found talent in a market, but now the way of thinking has changed and you have to select by competencies, not prioritize the candidate’s experience and the use of social networks and digital tools to search for talent.”
On the other hand, Francisco Marín understands that the work of companies is based on helping clients understand technologies. However, he affirms that “as the days go by there will be more people vaccinated and fewer restrictions, which will favor more frequent interactions between clients, Partners and investors.” In addition, he believes that “still, the workers, continue to learn to interact telematically,” says Francisco.
As a conclusion, all participants agree that work will not be 100% as before due to the pandemic, therefore, adaptation is the key in the new companies.
After analyzing the trends in teleworking and presence in this first chapter of the series, it should be noted that on June 1 we will have the second installment with the title of The Importance of Collaborative Networks in Driving Successful Change.
