DCH together with CTS (Cognitive Talent Solutions) and the HR Tech Hub launched the second episode of the Future of Work Series on July 8 in which we connected once again with Silicon Valley to talk about “Workforce Planning in a Digital Age”. In this second meeting we had the pleasure of having the presence of Xuelian Chi, HR Consultant & Advisor at Cognitive Talent Solutions; Al Adamsen, Founder & CEO at PAFOW and Talent Strategy Institute; Graham Davis, Enteprise Group Manager & Senior Director of Product Management at Indeed; and Kae Huynh, Investor at EG Ventures.
During the meeting, questions were posed that addressed the role of professionals in organizations in contributing to workforce planning strategy considering today’s artificial intelligence. On the other hand, the challenges faced by People Analytics and the data collected through this technology for the design of strategies were analyzed.
In addition, topics such as internal communication in organizations and the analysis of the external labor market for the attraction of talent to organizations were discussed.
Al Adamsen emphasized that, workforce planning today, is a long term process not a specific event in time that you finish and call it a day. He added that it is very important to know your target audience and the objective you want to achieve.
On the other hand, Graham Davis pointed out that it is a mistake to focus on internal data, taking into account only the needs of the organization and ignoring the external market context. He further stressed that workforce planning must take into account both the current context and external partners to create strategies that make sense.
For any industry, data is essential, commented Xuelian Chi. Xuelian highlighted that professionals need to implement People Analytics as these are technologies that have a key role within organizations to design the future of workforce planning. He further added that this artificial intelligence can help identify and analyze employee interaction by monitoring productivity.
The third and final episode of the Future of Work Series will take place on September 9 under the title “A Decentralized Future: From Organigrams to Organizational Networks” with Francisco Marin, Co-founder & CEO at Cognitive Talent Solutions and Jennifer Paylor, Head of Learning & Development, Talent, and Culture in North America at Capgemini. In addition, once again will join us Kae Huynh from EG Ventures as moderator.
