By implementing it, we are demonstrating our commitment to the well-being of our employees.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember573\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">Before starting a performance evaluation process, it is essential to define the following steps:<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember574\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\"><strong>What are we going to evaluate?<\/strong>Define the criteria and factors to be evaluated, here I propose several options:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cross-cutting and individual objectives &#8211; What do I have to achieve?<\/li>\n<li>Competencies &#8211; What skills do I have to achieve this?<\/li>\n<li>Behaviors &#8211; What behaviors do I have to perform?<\/li>\n<li>Attitudes &#8211; With what attitude?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p id=\"ember576\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">Of course, once the criteria have been decided, the different factors, parameters of each one of them, must be weighted and a roadmap must be available to achieve a positive evaluation in each one of these criteria.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember577\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\"><strong>Who will evaluate? <\/strong>Selecting evaluators :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Self-evaluation.<\/li>\n<li>Evaluation of superiors.<\/li>\n<li>Peer evaluation.<\/li>\n<li>Evaluation of subordinates.<\/li>\n<li>Customer evaluation.<\/li>\n<li>Combinations of these evaluations, being a <strong>360\u00ba evaluation<\/strong> when comparing all the mentioned evaluations, or 180\u00ba, 90\u00ba, 270\u00ba when choosing some of the options<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p id=\"ember579\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\"><strong>When am I going to evaluate? <\/strong>Decide on the timing and periodicity of the evaluation. The most common is annual or semi-annual<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember580\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\"><strong>How is it evaluated? <\/strong>Decide on specialized software, use computer systems for traceability and data management.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-5\"><h2 id=\"ember581\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__heading-3\">What else should I consider if I decide to set up a performance evaluation process?<\/h2>\n<p id=\"ember582\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">To promote effectiveness and achieve good results in this process, it is important to keep in mind that there are certain variables that affect work performance:<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember583\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\"><strong>Individual<\/strong> Variables of the worker:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Capacities and skills (mental and physical)<\/li>\n<li>Family and social environment.<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p id=\"ember585\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\"><strong>Organizational<\/strong> Variables: These are closely linked to the psychosocial risks present in organizations. Therefore, it is essential to perform a psychosocial diagnosis prior to any performance evaluation process. During the evaluation of<strong> psychosocial risks<\/strong>, psychosocial risk factors are identified, analyzed and assessed, with the aim of eliminating or reducing them, such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Workload and pace of work.<\/li>\n<li>Interpersonal relationships or social support.<\/li>\n<li>Leadership style.<\/li>\n<li>Participation and control.<\/li>\n<li>Work-life balance and working hours.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p id=\"ember587\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">How can we expect someone to perform excellently when the environment is not conducive to doing so?<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"ember588\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__heading-3\">Developing talent: The key is in the assessment: Best Practices<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Simplify the process, simple and clear evaluation.<\/li>\n<li>Transparency in the criteria and form of evaluation.<\/li>\n<li>Appropriate frequency, semi-annual or annual evaluations with frequent contact.<\/li>\n<li>Strong training will enable evaluators to recognize and avoid common biases such as leniency or the recency effect, resulting in more accurate and equitable evaluations.<\/li>\n<li>Focusing on objective behaviors ensures reliability and validity.<\/li>\n<li>Bottom-up and reciprocal evaluation: Employees start by evaluating their managers, they perceive the fairness of the process.<\/li>\n<li>Include a self-assessment: Provides self-critical feedback and greater acceptance.<\/li>\n<li>Involve employees themselves in the recording of behaviors to encourage evaluation.<\/li>\n<li>Train in giving and receiving feedback.<\/li>\n<li>Perform active and empathic listening.<\/li>\n<li>Establishment of individualized action plans.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p id=\"ember590\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">Performance evaluation goes beyond measuring numbers.
