Madrid, [25/03/2025] – Yesterday took place at Deusto Business School a reference event in the field of Human Resources, organized in collaboration with DCH – International Organization of Human Capital Managers. The meeting brought together leading experts and professionals in the sector to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the profile of the Human Resources professional in the future.

A day of analysis and reflection

The event began with a warm welcome by Juan Carlos Pérez Espinosa, Global President of DCH, together with Virginia Gómez de Retana, Director of Open Programmes and Transfer, and Marta Aguilar Barrón, Corporate Director, of Deusto Business School, who highlighted the importance of this type of meeting to share knowledge and promote the evolution of talent in organizations.

Next, Antón Costas Comesaña, Born Counselor of the Council of State and President of the Economic and Social Council (CES), gave a strategic technical presentation entitled “A new look at the labor factor in the economy”.

In his speech, Antón addressed the evolution of the labor market and the need to adapt business strategies to changes in the global economy.

One of the most emotional moments of the event was the presentation of Virginia to Antón, in which she highlighted his career and contributions to the field of employment and the economy, highlighting his contribution to the development of talent in Spain.

Presentation of the DCH Study on the Future of the HR Professional Profile

Following Antón Costas’ presentation, Guillermo Dorronsoro, Management Board Advisor and Academic Director of the Business Innovation Program at Deusto Business School, presented the DCH Study on the Future of the Human Resources Professional Profile. During his speech, Guillermo highlighted the main findings of the report, underlining the impact of digitalization, sustainability and the evolution of leadership in talent management.

The study also highlighted the growing relevance of reskilling and upskilling in organizations, as well as the need for continuous training for HR professionals in an increasingly dynamic and demanding environment. Afterwards, a question-and-answer session was opened where attendees were able to exchange ideas and reflect on the implications of the study results.

Roundtable discussion: challenges and opportunities for the future of HR

The event continued with a panel discussion in which industry experts debated the results of the study and the trends that will shape the future of Human Resources. Moderated by Mónica Torre, Human Resources Director of Up Spain, the round table was attended by:

  • Alberto González Pascual, Director of Culture, Development and Human Resources Talent Management at PRISA Media.
  • David Martín Álvarez, HR Director Spain & Portugal at Steelcase.
  • Francisco de la Calle, Iberia People and Organization Head at Sandoz.

During the conversation, key topics such as digitalization in talent management, leadership transformation and the adaptation of organizations to a changing work environment were addressed. The panelists agreed on the importance of training and continuous development of teams as a fundamental pillar for business success.

Networking and closing of the event

The event also provided an opportunity for networking during a coffee break, where attendees were able to share impressions and strengthen their professional connections.

To close the day, Juan Manuel Rueda took the floor and made an intervention in which he highlighted the collaboration between DCH and Deusto Business School in the organization of the event and in the preparation of the study presented.
